Pasta For Christmas
Ingredients
2 tbs extra-virgin olive oil
ΒΌ lb smoked ham, chopped into small pieces
4 cloves of crushed garlic
1 piece of celery, chopped
1 cup dry red wine
1 cup of beef stock
Two cans of crushed tomatoes
1 chopped onion
1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
black pepper and salt
2 lbs penne or other favorite pasta
grated parmesan cheese
lots of chopped parsley
Instruction
Heat frying pan over medium-high heat. Add ham and brown slightly. Stir in garlic and onion and fry for 1 minute.
Start cooking pasta according to instructions on package.
Add carrot and celery, brown for 3 minutes and then add wine. Cook for 1 minute; add stock and tomatoes to the pot.
Stir in parsley and cinnamon and season sauce with salt and pepper. Bring the whole thing to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, and cook 10 minutes.
Add pasta to plates, and coat it with the sauce. Sprinkle Parmesan on top.
Serve with a green salad with Italian vinegrette.
